Transfer/convert TiVo shows to iPad/iPad 2 on Mac?
iPad gives up to 10 hours of surfing the web by Wi-Fi or 3G, watching video online or offline, playing HD games or listening to music, yeah, it is a great portable video player. Have you transfer your TiVo recordings to iPad on Mac OS X( Windows guide is here)? No matter where you are, just take out the iPad or iPad 2 for enjoying your loves TV show or movies freely! Now I will share you how to transfer and convert TiVo recordings for iPad or iPad 2 on Mac OS X (10.5 or later).
Part 1. Transfer TiVo recordings to Mac (iMac and MacBook)
Once you’ve recorded your love shows on your TiVo box, you can transfer them to your Mac with certain software as long as your TiVo box is connected to your home network.
Software you need: TiVoDecode Manager.
Step 1 - Run the TiVo transfer software, enter your TiVo's IP address in the TiVo IP Address box.
Step 2 - Next click the Prefs button in the lower-right corner. enter the Media Access Key. A list of shows on your TiVo will appear in the Now Playing list.
Step 3 - Select the show and click "Add Show To Queue". The selected show now appears in the Download Queue list.
Step 4 - Click Download Location to select where you want to save it.
Part 2. Convert TiVo recordings to iPad compatible formats on Mac.
Software you need: Mac TiVo Converter ( Intel version | PPC version free download) which converts TiVo files as well as HD footages, Flash videos, Matroska container format, etc.
Step 1. Input Media Access Key.
Launch this Mac TiVo supported Video Converter, click on the "Option" button, switch to TiVo tab, and enter your Media Access Key. Click "OK".
Step 2: Import TiVo shows file to the Mac TiVo Converter.
Click the "Add" button to import .tivo files to TiVo Video Converter.
Step 3: Select the output format for iPad or iPad 2
Click on the menu of "Format" and then tap "iPad", after that, you will see some options optimized for iPad showing as below, including "iPad HD Video (*.mp4)", "iPad Video H.264 (*.MP4)", "iPad Video MPEG-4 (*.mp4)".
Important: Select the profile iPad Video H.264(*.mp4) - optimized for iPad and iPad 2( full-screen playback)
Step 4: After selected the profile for iPad or iPad 2, then click "Convert" button to start conversion.
Once finished, you will get the converted TiVo recordings video files for your iPad, click the "Open" button effortlessly. Then connect your iPad to your Mac, just sync the converted TiVo shows to iPad via iTunes.
